Apply for your director ID by 30 November 2022

If you are a director of a company, registered Australian body or registered foreign company under the Corporation Act 2001 (Corporations Act) you need to obtain a director identification number (director ID) by 30 November 2022. A director ID is a unique identifier that a company director applies for once and keeps forever.

Sole traders do not need a director ID.

Once you have your director ID, keep it safe until it is needed. You don’t need to do anything with your director ID now but can provide it to an accountant, company secretary, ASIC registered agent or tax professional for record-keeping purposes.
